The Stars My Destination as a Cyberpunk Novel:
In our opinion Alfred Bester's novel can be considered a Cyberpunk novel due to the existence of advanced
technology in Gulliver Foyle's world i.e. memo beads, jaunting, launch pads; as well as Gulliver's lack of intelligence
and there for representation of the "low life" or primative qualities of a Cyberpunk novel. Not only do the novel's
characters represent these ideas environment of the novel itself supports it. The wars between the inner and outer
planets as well as the levels that people have to go to protect themselves from strangers jaunting into their homes
show the strong deterition of the society that we know and it's morals.
